One donor's story: Amy Cain Li
From her husband:
Amy was a caring woman and not only a devoted wife and mother, but also a dedicated daughter and sister. She gave of herself without consideration of time, cost, or consequences… always putting others before herself.
Amy’s focus was not only to family, but also to the world as well. She endeavored in her philanthropic pursuits to better the lives of those who she had never met, only knowing there was need against great odds. It never deterred her.
I do acknowledge that she always desired to be a donor and designated herself in this fashion proudly on her Minnesota state driver’s license.
From her sister:
Amy was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was kind, compassionate, loyal and steadfast in her beliefs. She lived her life in a way in which she always gave back more than she used up and was always willing to help others. She was a light to this world and she is missed and loved by many.
Whatever Amy believed in was important to her. She had many causes throughout her life and poured her heart and soul into them. Her children and family were most important to her with helping others a close second. Amy never skimped she gave 110% to everyone and everything that she loved.
It was Amy’s wish to be an organ donor and she made her family and loved ones aware of this choice. She was a registered donor.
