One donor's story: Brody Sotona
Brody was only 20 years old and had a huge life ahead of him – a life he loved and embraced. He was known for his kindness and laughter. His friends had quoted: “Brody was nice to everyone – that’s a good way to be.” He always found the positive qualities in everyone and everything. Brody loved to make people smile and had a laugh that was contagious. He had a calmness to him that would draw people to him. He is missed by his family and many others.
Brody was passionate about all things he did in life. He played guitar since he was 11 years old. He had two bands and enjoyed jamming with other bands traveling in the Twin Cities area. Brody loved spending time with his friends and family. He had a strong faith that shined through his kind acts.
Brody felt strongly about being a donor. He did not have to think twice about checking the box on his driver’s license. You see, Brody’s Grandpa Gene had a heart transplant in 1987. Although Brody never knew his grandpa, he understood the precious gift of life and the extra years our family was given with him.
It is our hope that we will one day meet some of the recipients that Brody may have helped. We would love to gaze into those beautiful blue eyes one more time.
