One donor's story: Shawn Sprinkle

  • Harris
  • Organ , Tissue , Eyes
  • Deceased Donor: 2012

Shawn was easy going and kind. He was a friend to everyone. When he asked how you were doing, he truly wanted to know. He would donate the use of his trailer to the church, for their outside services, as well as for the local breast cancer fund raiser. Shawn was a very likable guy ( holding the unofficial title as mayor of Stark). He was a very giving person, who always had a smile and a joke.

Shawn loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid tractor puller, with his John Deere and International tractors. He loved snowmobiles, four wheeling and his Harley. He loved his St. Bernard dogs, Willie and Willa. Recently, before Shawn’ s death, he had purchased a new home, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends, especially at the holidays.

Shawn had identified himself as an organ donor on his license, making the decision much easier for his family. Shawn had several people that influenced his decision to be a donor, his Dad who had a ‘re -attached’ arm, sister, who was diabetic, and cousin with a traumatic brain injury.
