One donor's story: Gary Oien
I became a pharmacist in 1982, married in 1989 to a wonderful lady with two great kids, and not a day went by with any health problems for any of us…except my wife.
It wasn’t an issue for me until the 2000’s, that everyone should become a donor. Please do it now.
At her doctor’s appointment, my wife was told that she was in renal failure and needed a kidney or dialysis. I offered my kidney in jest. Her doctors agreed in doubt. Within a few months we found out that I was a match. Never disbelieve the possibilities.
