One donor's story: Mary Alexander
I have worked for metro transit since 1985. I have 3 children: 30, 27, and 17 years, and I just turned 50 on may 31.
I’ts important to be to help people the best way I can.
I became a donor because of my son. We were watching fox 9 news and we saw a story about a person who needed a kidney. My son, Alex, wanted to give his, but I told him he was to young. He kept asking me to ask them if he could do, so to shut him up I told him I would try it just to shut him up, not knowing I would end up matching with her and the rest is history.
