Susan Barton passed away on June 20, 2017 and donated her body (to the U of M Medical School) and her eyes. She was a person who wanted to help others, that is why, in spite of all of her health problems she volunteered on many charity boards. She also counseled many people who were also experiencing health needs (Susan had MS, was legally blind, and had artificial hips).

Susan became a donor when she heard about the program while being at HCMC many times for treatments. She convinced me to also enroll as well as my eldest son. This is the type of person she was. When I was writing a check for a charity and told her the amount, she always said, “Double it.” She knew we could afford it and there were many out there who needed our help.
