One donor's story: Judith Kashtan
Dr. Judith Finkelstein Kashtan was a mother of three as well as a beloved and admired Minneapolis psychiatrist. Dr. Kashtan died as a result of a brain hemorrhage, a few weeks before her 70th birthday and her 44th wedding anniversary. Dr. Kashtan was a past president of the Minnesota Psychiatric Society and a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Psychiatric Association, where she advocated for women as psychiatrists and as leaders in the profession.
Dr. Kashtan was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Finkelstein. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Clifford Kashtan; her children, Aaron, Paula and Sarah; her father, Dr. Lionel Finkelstein; her siblings Jim (Elnora) Finkelstein, Martha (Eric) Young and Amy (Andrew) Dick; and many loving nieces and nephews. May her memory be a blessing.
