One donor's story: Flannery Dolan
If I’m able to help I will.
My family and having gratitude.
My aunt was always a strong person, physically and mentally, and set an example that women could do anything they wanted to. When she got kidney disease and was unable to be as active as she had been it worried everyone. We were all relieved when the first transplant worked and when it came time for the second one I was happy to do it. She needed a kidney and I had an extra. My aunt is still strong and doesn’t complain. Her outlook on life has taught me to be grateful for the basics, waking up and being able to take a breath is a gift.
