One donor's story: Jessica Stotz
I find joy in learning how the world and how people work. Spending time in the woods, along a river, or climbing a mountain is only bettered by sharing those activities with other great people. My mom is one of those great people, and I consider “sharing my spare” with her to be one of the greatest pinnacles in my life experience.
Loving people well is the most important thing in my life. I continually seek ways to do that better.
My mother was in end-stage renal failure and I was on the front lines of seeing her quality of life degrade. The idea that I could share a piece of myself to make a dynamic, profound impact in my Mom’s life still amazes me. Now that I know what it is do be a living donor, I’d be ready to donate to anyone; not just my mother. I feel abundantly fortunate to have had the opportunity to “share my spare”; if only I could do it again!
