I donated a kidney to my mother through the Paired Kidney Exchange in 2010, with the incredible support of my husband. In 2012 we had a beautiful baby girl, who gets to enjoy time with her grandma almost every day.

I’d like to spread awareness of the Paired Kidney Exchange Program. It is a wonderful way to help a friend or family member, even if you are not a compatible match.

Through HCMC’s involvement of the paired exchange program I was able to donate a kidney to my mom, even though I was not a match. Now my daughter, born a year and a half after donation, is able to experience the love and joy of a healthy grandma.
